As I’ve interviewed and interacted with change agents all over the world, I’ve been shocked by the number of people who seem to think that the idea of business doing well for the world, or social entrepreneurship is just another fad that will come and go like those LA Lights shoes I wore in kindergarten.
Change Nation, I’m here to tell you that nothing could be further from the truth. You’re here because you’ve felt that burning inside you to create something that makes a dollar and a difference, functions on profit and purpose, and makes a lasting impact. And you and I both know you wouldn’t be facing these insanely long hours, rejection, and all this uncertainty if your heart wasn’t in the right place.
So, that’s why I say that social business, cause based business, social entrepreneurship, whatever you call it, is part of a social revolution. It’s a shift in the way we do business that says we can do well AND do good. As we embark on this journey together, remember that those who would try to claim that this is ‘just a fad’ likely don’t understand what social business truly is. I’ve interviewed cause based leaders all over the world, and I promise you that what we are a part of is a new wave that will forever transform the way our economy operates, what consumers demand, and what we expect from business.
