This week’s podcast takes a twist on traditional cause-based businesses. Social Change Nation was privileged to interview Mason Wartman, the founder of Rosa’s Fresh Pizza in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mason originally started his business and finance career as a research analyst on Wall Street, but quickly found that after only three years his future would plateau. Thus, Mason decided to leave Wall Street and fulfill his dream of becoming an entrepreneur by changing the course of his future to something that would challenge him. Only three months after establishing Rosa’s Fresh Pizza, a customer helped Mason start what is now the main mission of Rosa’s. By offering to pay for the next homeless person’s $1-a-slice pizza, Mason realized how this could catch on and other customers followed suit. Check into the podcast to see how Mason is serving close 100 free slices a day because customers have decided to step-up and make a difference with their dollar!
